The office of Dr. Trunnell is the most experienced Invisalign® provider in the Cedar Valley and is a recognized by the company as a Preferred Invisalign® Provider.

What is it?

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.

Why would I want it?

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustments. Invisalign also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move  little by little, week by week  until they have straightened to the final position Drs. Trunnell and Brummer have prescribed. You’ll visit Drs. Trunnell or Brummer about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

cvdasleep

CVDA Sleep is the Cedar Valley’s only provider of Dental Sleep appliances!

What is it?

Sleep apnea (AP-ne-ah) is a common disorder in which you have one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep.

Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes.  They may occur 30 times or more an hour.  Typically, normal breathing then starts again, sometimes with a loud snort or choking sound.

Sleep apnea is a chronic (ongoing) condition that disrupts your sleep.  When your breathign pauses or becomes shallow you’ll often move out of deep sleep and into light sleep.

As a result, the quality of your sleep is poor, which makes you tired during the day. Sleep apnea is a leading cause of daytime sleepiness.

How do you help treat it?

In conjunction with a Physician CVDA Sleep can make a custom oral appliance that will help to open your airway during sleep, allowing for unobstructed breathing.

Who does it work for?

Generally oral sleep appliances are a good fit for persons with mild to moderate sleep apnea, but, there are times when patients with more severe apnea can use an appliance in conjunction with your CPAP machine to make it more tolerable.
